Getting Your Vaccine
Check your eligibility, and learn about vaccination sites in the Finger Lakes. Because there is a limited supply of vaccine right now, it could take several weeks to schedule an appointment. More appointments will become available as supply increases.
New York State is distributing the COVID-19 vaccine in phases. New Yorkers who are more likely to be exposed to the virus and those who are more likely to become seriously ill will be offered the vaccine first.
Right now, there is a limited supply of vaccine, and it could take up to 14 weeks for eligible individuals to schedule their vaccine. As supply increases, there will be more appointments available. See the weekly vaccine allocation by provider.
Follow these steps to schedule your vaccination:
-
Check your eligibility
The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to certain groups in our region. They include:
- People ages 65 and older
- Teachers and education workers
- First responders
- Public safety workers
- Public transit workers
- People with comorbidities or underlying medical conditions
Complete list of vaccine eligibility groups: https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/phased-distribution-vaccine.
The COVID-19 vaccines are available through hospitals, pharmacies, primary care doctors and county health departments in our region. See providers under Make An Appointment.
For appointments at state vaccine clinics only, call the New York State COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline from 7am - 10pm, 7 days a week at at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829).
Appointments are required.
-
Make An Appointment
You must have an appointment to receive the vaccine. Walk-ins are not permitted. If you go to a vaccine provider without an appointment, you will not receive your vaccine.
Please be patient. We understand that many eligible people are finding it difficult to schedule an appointment right now. Please be patient and persistent. More appointments will become available as the state and our region receive more vaccine in the coming weeks.
We are glad that so many members of our community want to be vaccinated. The more people who receive the vaccine, the more protected we all are from COVID-19.
This chart describes the different providers/locations where eligible individuals can receive their vaccine, and below is a list of providers/locations by county.
All vaccination is by appointment only. There are no walk-ins.

Prepare for Your Appointment
-
When you go to your vaccine appointment, you will need to bring proof that you have an appointment and are eligible to receive the shot. If you visit a provider without an appointment, you will not receive a vaccine.
- Complete the New York State COVID-19 Vaccine Form. This form can be completed online and you will receive a submission ID, or you can fill out the form at your vaccination site.
- Plan to wear a short-sleeve shirt, if possible, and bring a mask or face covering to wear during your appointment.
-
You will also need to these items at your appointment:
- Proper photo ID that includes your date of birth
- Insurance card if you have one
- List of allergies
- Your primary doctor’s name and phone number.
- If you have Medicare, please be sure to bring your Medicare Part B card with you to the appointment.
-
-
At Your Appointment
You must wear a mask or face covering during your appointment.
If you have not already completed the New York State COVID-19 Vaccine Form, you will need to fill one out when you arrive.
Before you get your vaccine you will need to fill out a survey for New York State and read information about the vaccine you are receiving.
Next you will fill out a consent form. You may be asked for your insurance information, even though there is no cost to you for the vaccine – whether or not you have insurance.
After you receive your shot, you will get a vaccination card or print-out that lists which vaccine you received, the date of your shot, and where you received it. Your vaccine provider will also schedule you to receive your second dose of the vaccine. You must have an appointment to receive your second dose.
You must wait on site for 15 minutes after your shot so that the providers can monitor you for any immediate allergic reactions.
